Learnerships are of a specified nature, level and duration (usually one year) resulting in a nationally recognised qualification.

Learnerships are of a specified nature, level and duration (usually one year) resulting in a nationally recognised qualification. Learnerships are provided by employers (both large and small) in conjunction with the learner, the relevant SETA (sector education and training authority), and or an accredited training provider.

Skills Programmes

A Skills programme consists of a unit standard or group of unit standards that is large enough for the learner to become employable. Skills programmes do not result in a qualification themselves upon completion, but will lead to a Learnership qualification. With a Skills programme, a learner can learn a specific amount of work, which consists of a group of unit standards, instead of having to complete an entire qualification as in the case of a Learnership.

Online Accredited Learnerships

As COVID-19 has swept through South African floors and companies having to work with as few employees on the premises as possible, not everyone is able to host Learnerships at the workplace or ensure that their spend for BEE has been correctly achieved. VCA is now able to offer online accredited learnerships for internal staff where you can use the employees salary towards your BEE spend as long as the employees are on learnerships.
